This little wooden plane is built for swooshing around the lounge room, not sitting on a shelf.
Ira draws the shapes in our Sydney studio, and a small team in Indonesia carves each one from pine and teak. There's no paint anywhere on it. The two-tone colour is just the two timbers, and the pieces are held together with bamboo pins and glue rather than screws, so nothing can work loose in little hands.
